This 1 acre site was once home to a riding centre on the outskirts of Bourton-on-the-Water at Essex Place on the A429 Fosse Way.

Robert Hitchins Ltd produced a residential design that created six houses, streets and spaces which shared common characteristics with the dwellings in the vicinity so that the new development would be seen as an integral part of the Bourton and the Fosse Way corridor, enhancing its unique sense of place.

Cotswold District Council agreed that it was a sustainable development which would improve the environmental, social and economic conditions of the area and granted outline planning permission for up to six homes.
