This 21 acre, unallocated, greenfield site lies near Hardwicke to the south of Gloucester. The site was located outside of the settlement boundary.
An application for outline planning permission for a scheme of up to 200 dwellingsalong with infrastructure, ancillary facilities, open space and landscaping, as well as the construction of new vehicular access from the C223/Sellars Road, was submitted to Stroud District Council in June 2011.
The main issue on appeal was whether the sites release for development was justified by housing land supply considerations, including taking into account concern about prematurity. Outline planning permission for the a scheme of up to 200 dwellings was granted by the Planning Inspectorate in May 2012 due to the succesful outcome of the appeal.
