This 3 acre greenfield site lies off Chartist Way, Staunton.
Outline planning permission for up to 27 dwellings was granted by the Secretary of State in July 2017 following an appeal lodged against the refusal to grant planning permission by Forest of Dean District Council.
The site is located adjacent a Conservation Area, a Listed Building and Non Designated Heritage Assets and was originally not allocated in the emerging Forest of Allocations DPD. Following Robert Hitchins Limited promoting the site, part was allocated in the Allocations Plan Further Changes (December 2016) following the applications refusal. The Appeal Inspector concluded that the proposal would not harm heritage assets or their wider landscape setting and despite the site’s location outside the village’s settlement boundary 27 dwellings in this location would be a proportionate addition.
